What is the GMAT?
The Graduate Management Admission Test — universally known as the GMAT — is a standardised entrance exam administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). It is specifically designed for candidates applying to MBA, Master in Management (MiM), and other postgraduate business programs worldwide.
Unlike general English proficiency tests, the GMAT does not test subject knowledge. It assesses the analytical thinking, problem-solving, data interpretation, and critical reasoning skills that top business schools look for — skills that directly translate to success in a demanding MBA program.
Smarter, Shorter, More Strategic
Since February 2024, the GMAT Focus Edition is the only version available globally — a significantly redesigned exam that's more concise, fully adaptive, and built around the real skills modern business schools demand. Study List's prep course is fully updated to this format.
